Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. She is the oldest child in a family of four. Audrey Tautou's parents, who are a dental doctor and teacher in a school helped and encouraged her early love for drama and theatre. Her initial dream of becoming a specialist in monkeys was eclipsed by her wish to pursue a degree in theater and drama. As a young woman, her rise to stardom was rapid and marked with the beginning of her success. When she graduated in 1998, her education, she was selected to be a part of Jeunes Premiers, a French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is which was run by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress in Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to begin her professional career as an actor. Though she was a student at The Institut Catholique de Paris and went to church as a child, Tautou has stayed away from her religious upbringing and has stated she's not Catholic. Alongside her acting career, Tautou took up modeling and was the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Additionally, she is a keen passion for photography. She recently presented an exhibit of her work during the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Through her photography, she focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. The camera's focus is towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to the heights of fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her first role in Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie achieved international success on the screen and also won numerous awards across the world. It is the most successful French language film in the US. Later, in the same year, she appeared in British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet The long day of the fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
